FAQ

Questions we get asked a lot.

Our goal is to hold a global voting for peace. Every person can take part in this voting. Anyone can support their wish for peace with a photo or message, if they want.

We believe almost all humans want peace, and we can make the worldwide wish visible with a global voting. In our eyes, this would be a decisive step towards more peace.

Images and words have power. They can hurt, but also heal. They shape our reality and define our thoughts, feelings, and actions.

These days, there is much violence, hate, destruction, disunion, suppression, and exploitation in our world. We all know those images through the media and social networks. These negative impressions cause distrust and lead to fear, anger, and separation. They weaken our courage, our power, and our will to give something back to the world we live in.

Vote For Peace wants to hold this voting to collect as many positive images and impressions as possible, to show everyone there is a reason to trust and hope.

Most people want peace and are ready to give something to other people. This power we want to give to the world. It can positively influence everything people think, feel, and do - at every hour and in any place.

Tell your friends and relatives about this voting. Ask them if they are pro peace and if you’re allowed to count their vote. When they agree, you can cast their vote yourself.

Of course, you can also send them a message and let them vote for themselves.

We recommend you avoid discussions and debates. Talking is always important, but debates can lead to tension and arguing.

Simply tell your friends and family about this voting. Just ask them if they want peace and if you can count their vote.

By repeating, we remind people of this voting every year. This way we want to amplify the impact of the voting. If the voting was held only once, the process would grow lengthy, and its impact would nullify.

The repetition also has a cleansing effect. To make the voting accessible for as many as possible, we intentionally refrained from requiring user registrations. Of course, that also makes it possible to click multiple times and manipulate the counter. By resetting the counter at the end of a year, these false votes are removed. Note: Voting multiple times is allowed when you count several real votes.

We assume this voting will eventually obtain its legitimacy as a global vote for peace through popularity and many messages of peace.

It can! To make the voting accessible for as many as possible, we intentionally refrained from requiring user registrations. In our opinion, easy access is the deciding factor. Only when participation is simple, can we reach many people. And only when we reach many people, can we change something. By resetting the counter at the end of a year, these false votes are removed. Note: Voting multiple times is allowed when you count several real votes.

We assume this voting will eventually obtain its legitimacy as a global vote for peace through popularity and many messages of peace.

Vote For Peace is neutral. That is our most important principle. Only as an impartial organization do we stand a chance to be accepted by many people, and only then can our voting for peace become global. If we made specific demands, we would not be impartial anymore. Others would take a stance as well and people with different opinions would reject Vote For Peace.

Of course, all members of Vote For Peace have their own views, but for this project we set our opinions aside to create something to unify people, not divide them. Should a member of our project ever express a view about politics, religion, or other world views, that is always a personal opinion.

Naturally, people need to discuss problems and solutions and exchange opinions. But these conversations need to be held somewhere else. Vote For Peace is a place exclusively for expressing the mutual wish for peace.

Yes, almost all people presumably want peace. But when no one expresses that, nothing can change. A silent majority cannot be heard. Only a visible majority has influence.

The most important thing is that no one feels pressured to vote. Participation needs to be absolutely voluntary. Only when a person votes of their own free will, can the vote have a positive effect.

Many people need time to get to know the project and our idea, and to build trust. Give them the time they need to inform themselves.

Regarding climate change, extinction of species and all other global problems, peace has a central meaning. Peace is the basis for collaboration, and only together can we master the great challenges of our time.
