Ein globaler Friedensaufruf

Frequently asked questions

The following questions are frequently asked.

Our goal is to hold a global peace vote. Anyone can take part in this vote. Anyone who wants to can affirm their wish for peace with a photo or a message of peace.

We believe that the vast majority of people want peace and that we can make this worldwide desire for peace visible today through a global peace vote. In our view, this would be a decisive step towards more peace.

Images and words have power. They can hurt but also heal. They shape our reality and determine our thoughts, feelings and actions.

There is a lot of violence, hatred, destruction, division, oppression and exploitation in our world today. We are all familiar with these images from the media and social networks. These negative impressions create mistrust and lead to fear, anger and division. They weaken our courage, our strength and our will to give something back to the world in which we live.

Vote For Peace wants to create as many positive images and impressions as possible through a global peace vote and show everyone that there is reason to trust and hope.

Most people want peace and are willing to give something to others. We want to bring this power into the world. It can positively influence and permeate everything that people think, feel and do – at any time and in any place in the world.

Tell your friends and relatives about this vote. Ask them if they are in favor of peace and if you can count their vote. If they agree, you can cast their vote yourself.

Of course you can also send them a message and let them vote for themselves.

We recommend that you refrain from discussions and arguments. Talking is of course always important. But arguing can lead to tension and even arguments.

Tell your friends and family about this vote. Just ask them if they are in favor of peace and if you can count their vote.

We remind people of this election every year by repeating it. In this way, we want to strengthen the effect of the vote. If the election were only held once, the process could drag on and the effect might fizzle out.

The recurring vote also has a cleansing effect. So that as many people as possible can take part in the vote, we have deliberately decided not to require registration. Of course, this also makes it possible to click multiple times and manipulate the counter. By resetting the counter at the end of the year, these incorrect votes are deleted again. Note: However, multiple clicks are permitted if they are used to cast several real votes.

We assume that this vote will eventually be legitimized as a global peace vote through its high profile and many messages of peace.

Yes, we have deliberately decided not to require registration so that as many people as possible can take part in the vote. We believe that simple participation is the decisive criterion. Because only if participation is easy can we reach as many people as possible. And only if we reach a lot of people can we make a difference. By resetting the counter at the end of the year, incorrect votes will be deleted. Note: However, multiple clicks are permitted if they are used to cast several real votes.

We assume that this vote will eventually be legitimized as a global peace vote through its high profile and many messages of peace.

Vote For Peace is neutral. This is our most important principle. Only as an impartial organization do we have a chance of being accepted by many people and only then can this peace vote become global. If we were to make concrete demands, our organization would no longer be impartial. Fronts would form and people with opposing opinions or interests would reject Vote For Peace.

Of course, the members of Vote For Peace have their own views, but in the context of this project we are putting them aside, because we want to create something that unites us with Vote For Peace, not something that divides us. If a member of the project expresses a political, religious or ideological opinion, this is always a personal opinion.

Of course, people need to discuss problems and solutions and exchange opinions. But these discussions must take place elsewhere. Vote For Peace is a place where it is all about making the common desire for peace visible.

Yes, most people probably want peace. But if nobody says it, nothing can change. A silent majority cannot be heard. Only a visible majority has influence.

The most important thing is that no one is pressured into voting. Participation must be completely voluntary. Only if a person casts their vote of their own free will can this vote have a positive effect.

Many people need time to get to know the project and the idea and to gain confidence. Give them the time and the opportunity to inform themselves.

Peace is of central importance when it comes to climate change, species protection and all other global problems, because peace is the basis for cooperation and only together can we tackle the major challenges of our time.
